An Easy Way to Lose Weight that Really Works

Today I wanted to talk to you specifically about weight loss because it’s a major goal for a lot of people – to get a slim, toned and energetic body.

OK… straight to it…

The first thing that I’d like to say is that if you’re overweight… It’s not your fault.

I want to be really clear about this and I’d like you to be really clear too. It’s NOT YOUR FAULT.

We are ALL victims of the times we were born into. And nearly everyone falls into traps CAUSED by our times.

Human nature combined with your genes, combined with your environment cause overweight.

Simple. It’s not your fault.

No way, no how…

But! It IS your RESPONSIBILITY.

By that I simply mean that if you don’t do anything about the situation, no one else will. If you don’t take control and turn the tide, no one else will give a flying fig.

And even if your nearest and dearest would do anything to help you – sadly, most people don’t have the CLARITY and understanding of the situation to help.

Sadly, most well-meaning advice does more harm than good.

So, first thing – it’s not your fault but it IS your responsibility.

The second thing is harder to get your head around because it means letting go of some stuff you may have been holding onto. Just as most people don’t have the clarity to help you, the truth is that you may not either.

I know that’s a big belly blow. But…

This is MASSIVE.

One of the BIG obstacles to weight loss could be your own ideas. I’ve helped many folks to lose weight easily and by far the biggest obstacle is getting them to drop their own ideas and beliefs around food.

But I’m not going to leave you empty headed! Drop what you think you know about food, about dieting and pick up some NEW BELIEFS that actually GET THE JOB DONE.

After all… that is the ONLY criteria that matters isn’t it? – “does it easily and simply get the job done?”

Most people… nearly ALL people just go round and around in circles trying to lose weight. So if that’s your story, you’re not alone…

Attempt – fail – guilt – attempt again… round and round in a circle that will go on forever unless something changes, some new information, a new way that can cut into the circle and get the job done once and for all.

So, the first new belief I want you to have is WEIGHT LOSS IS EASY.

It really is and I will show you how to make it easy, painless and get the job done.

OK…

A quick word about weight gain… you know… that stuff that’s not your fault.

The simple reason most people gain weight is genetics. Yes, some have the “thrifty gene” and other genetic factors… genetic reasons why they gain weight more easily and find it harder to lose.

But that’s not the genetics I’m talking about (nor is it the real reason you can’t lose weight).

I’m talking about the fact that we are designed for survival – survival in environments totally different to the modern world where food supply was not only uncertain, but also… in a NATURAL form.

Those two things are the biggest reasons for weight gain.

Our bodies hold onto excess energy from food for times of famine!

And the other biggie – back in the day, there was NO SUCH THING as pizza and ice-cream!

This stuff drives your taste buds wild!

Your taste buds work well only with natural foods because your body is exquisitely adapted to an ancient environment — not McDonalds or Pizza Hut.

These two factors are mainly responsible for the obesity crisis we are now seeing where two thirds are overweight and one third obese!

ONE THIRD OBESE. Incredible.

No-ones fault.

OK they are the big two but we also have our social environment. Food is often used in some families as treats, rewards or comfort and this all plays into the weight gain picture.

And then we have another massive factor which is the way we are wired, the way we behave. We are creatures of HABIT and generally find it comfortable and pleasurable to REPEAT today what we did yesterday. Food habits are near the top of the “easiest to make” list and also near the top of the “hardest to break” list.

Food is one of our strongest attachments because of the emotional (comfort), sensorial (pleasure), and habitual aspects of eating.

When we find comfort in food habits, what’s the first thing we do when we feel bad? We go and do the very thing we want to stop doing… EAT. And the worse we feel about the whole situation the more we turn to our crutch… another layer, another vicious circle.

And finally… to stick the icing on the cake, our bodies cling on for dear life to all those extra calories if we attempt to diet too strictly. We quickly fall into a metabolic nightmare that’s almost impossible to get out of without the right knowledge.

Once your body gets used to a certain calorie input, it ramps up its hormones to deal with it and EXPECTS the same tomorrow… you can still feel hungry eating far in excess of what you need.

So you can easily see how all these factors combined create neuroses and complexes around food. And the more we try to wriggle our way out, the bigger the maze gets. We can quickly get into a mental fog about the way out of the mess and get totally stressed-out about the whole thing.

And then what do we do? We do the thing that makes us feel better — we eat. And often we resign ourselves to the idea that we just CAN’T DO IT and stop trying.

WOW big old mess eh?

And that’s why the failure rate for dieting is BIG… hardly anyone loses weight successfully.

Not only is it not your fault you’re overweight, it’s also not your fault that you can’t lose it. It’s a big problem with so many interacting factors.

If you look into scientific studies comparing different diets you’ll see the same story. It’s quite shocking to see how poorly folks actually stuck to the diets.

And the other shocking thing you’ll see is the amount of overall weight loss over the trial period of those that managed to stay the course — abysmal. Just a few pounds in a year!

The results of diet trials are terrible for EVERY type of diet. These diets, no matter WHAT the type just DON’T WORK!

And what really makes the jaw drop is that in these studies, folks are well supported and educated by the study. So if people can’t stick to a diet with all that support, what chance has someone without it?

The whole picture of dieting and the dieting industry is very gloomy but it doesn’t have to be that way at all.

One of my BIG frustrations is that folks are desperate to lose weight and I know how to do it. I know how to make it painless. I know how to make it enjoyable.

And most of all, I know a way that WORKS – I know how to create easy and consistent weight loss.

When it comes to weight loss, we are living in the dark ages. At one time, people believed the earth was flat too and today, people still believe weight loss is hard and they have to try all these weird diets to lose weight.

Not true.

WEIGHT LOSS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!!

The fact that there are thousands of diet plans out there, the fact that the FAILURE rate for dieting is massive, and our own experience of discomfort when we try to diet naturally create beliefs that dieting is hard and tortuous.

NOT TRUE… when you have the right information.

OK let’s get to what the right information actually is.

Number one–the calorie is king.

Read that a few times. Better still, stare at it for 10 minutes and let it sink right in. The calorie is king. So you don’t need weird diets; you need to eat less. Eat less food and your body burns fat.

Simple and true.

Yes, there are scientific complications that some folks would have you believe are important like “thermic effect of macronutrients” or “satiety of macronutrients.”

These are nothing but gimmicks that folks use to get a unique angle to sell you the latest “amazing and revolutionary diet.”

Nope… it’s really simple… eat less.

Simple but difficult to do (without the right information).

The difficulty truly lies in the “how to.”

This is the big one really isn’t it? Just how do we undo all these complex relationships to food, our emotional attachments, our habits, our desires and our crutches?

The answers lie in CLARITY and in HABITS.

Number one, you have to be exceptionally clear. You have to make your diet a no-brainer. And number two, you learn to master YOUR REACTIONS — your habits.

Exceptional clarity of “what to do every day” PLUS re-trained reactions to emotional and environmental triggers = easy weight loss.

Weight loss really is easy with THE RIGHT INFORMATION.

Diets don’t work because they don’t address these two things. They have nothing to say at all about the “HOW to” of dieting. And the “WHAT to do” is also usually too far too complex and doesn’t fit in with your busy life, or fit in with your family.

All too often, these diets involve cooking unique recipes or special food that’s different to what everyone else is having. So in your busy life you’re expected to cook for family AND a complex recipe for yourself, every day.

The bottom line is that these diets don’t work because they are UNREAL and complex and don’t address the true reason for failure — the missing HOW information.
