It’s a natural diet bonanza on TV here in the UK at the moment with two different programmes from the BBC. First up, a five parter on BBC2. Ray Mears looks at Wild Food. “Can anything be learned from stone age diets?” is the general theme…
In the age of growing rates of obesity, what can we learn from our hunter-gatherer past? Tonight he’s in Australia looking at traditional Aborigine diets and next week — on Wednesday this time — he’s in Britain looking at what our stone age ancestors would have eaten if they’d lived on the coast. Fascinating.
Second we have what I suspect reading the write-ups is going to be a frivolous look at The Truth About Food. To be honest I love the style, like on Diet Doctors where they designed bizarre experiments like making athletes eat 2lb of cheese every day to see what happens :-)
I think the fun approach is a good way to get folks to actually watch it. You gotta entertain if you want to teach, seems to be the way.
What really made my eyes light up was the subject of the first episode. Nine volunteers spend twelve days in a zoo eating an ape diet! Five kilos of fruit and veg a day plus nuts and seeds.
The volunteers were screened for cholesterol, blood pressure etc. before the experiment. The results? “Staggering”, dramatic decrease across the board in cholesterol and blood pressure — in only twelve days!
So the word is out big style… amazing to see two series featuring both ape diets and stone age diets at the same time. Word is spreading fast. I’m sure in the near future we’re going to see a lot of scientific research done on both these type of diets. Hurrah!
I hurt for 13 years. It was hell... torture... feeling very bad for a very long time. And that had a devastating effect on every aspect of my life.
With the little energy and focus I had, I hunted for answers. In fact I spent twenty YEARS trawling for answers. You can just imagine the trying, and stumbling, the desperation and frustration...
But now I've seen BOTH extremes of life... from wanting to die every day to the joy of health and happiness. The truth is that all my suffering drives me with a passion to help you not to suffer. Why I can't say, because it's just there, in me.
So don't make the same mistakes I did. Life is too short... I want you to feel good without falling into the pitfalls. I have this knowledge now and I would love you to have it.
It's all laid out for you in a simple step-by-step guide...
