Weight Loss with NO CARDIO? Yes, it DOES work!

When folks are overweight, perhaps lacking energy and suffering from low self-esteem, it can be a big ask to get the sneakers on and go jogging. From that state of mind and body, following some of the weight loss plans out there can seem like a climbing Everest. In fact, my experience and the statistics tell the same story — it’s not going to work.

So what to do?

Want to Lose Weight without Doing Cardio?

Well, it is, in fact, very do-able. I know many people who’ve done it.

Cardio is a factor in weight loss. One of many factors that can improve your results but it’s not that you can’t lose weight without it, you can.

The Important Ways

The main factor is an energy deficit — you’ve simply got to take in less energy than you burn and you’ll lose weight. No surprises there.

But it’s got to be the right amount less energy — too much less and you’ll find it hard to stick to, as well as risk metabolic slow-down and muscle loss. Too little less and you won’t see satisfactory results for your efforts.

So, getting your energy input just right — that’s number one of the “three important ways” in the Habit Guide weight loss plan.

All you need to do is make sure you don’t deviate from the three important ways and your success is guaranteed.

Experts and Angles

We have lots of different experts saying it’s not about calories. I’ve got to tell you — that’s just an angle. Yes it’s true that protein has a higher “thermic effect,” yes, rotating macro-nutrients can confuse your body into losing more weight but…

Successful weight loss long term means changing your habits, period. Doing weird diets that you can’t continue for life doesn’t cut it. Everyone I know that’s tried those diets that promise rapid weight loss have regained all the weight, without exception. That’s a waste of time, effort, money and self-belief.

To lose weight successfully, you have to make your diet a no-brainer, not have a complex program to follow.

Anyway, I’m getting off the point here…

No Cardio Required

None of the three important ways to successfully lose weight long term involve cardio. Number one is “Get your energy input just right” and so that may or may not involve cardio. It’s up to you.

Cardio will however, improve your chances. Because for example, if you wanted a calorie deficit of 500, it’s easy to see that cutting 250 calories from your diet and doing 250 in exercise will be easier to stick to than cutting the whole 500 from your diet.

But doing it by diet alone will work. In fact, one of my most successful clients did no exercise and found it very easy to lose weight with exactly the same three important ways you’ll find in Habit Guide.

And of course, cardio is just plain good for you. We should all be exercising to improve our health, our mood, our sleep — just about everything improves when you exercise. But you don’t have to do it to lose weight.

Snowballs and Hills

Change is about snowballs and hills. You get the ball rolling and the ball gets bigger and bigger and rolls faster and faster. Pretty soon you’ll be wanting to exercise. I think you will — because we all want the best for ourselves — to look and feel as good as we can.

But if you want to get your ball rolling without it, that’s good. Getting the ball rolling is the important thing.

The popular diet diets on the market force you to change it all at once, and that’s largely the reason they fail for around 98% of dieters.

It’s not going to happen. We like our comfort zones too much for that to work.

Start the ball rolling with the three important ways and then there’s a very good chance you’ll want to do some cardio. Then you’ll want to eat more healthily and so on.

It has all the tools you need for successful change. And if you get the three important ways working for you, I guarantee you’ll get the ball rolling and finally be able to lose weight and keep it off for good.

Good luck!

My own weight loss was substantially non-cardio. It was instead, largely the result of a diet lower in calories over an extended time along with a dose of determination to see the digital scales show smaller numbers! Exercise has been the best thing I’ve ever done to keep my remaining body look tight and to stop it from sagging! Cardio to bring about weight loss is over rated.

  3. Thank you Geoff! :-) We have sent you mail!

  4. Yes Rowena! One step at a time eh? Seeing the whole mountain can stop us taking that first step :-)

    Thanks for your comment,

    Mike
