A while back I mentioned “Not only is nearly all chronic illness created by poor lifestyle but medicine cannot cure chronic diseases such as osteoporosis, arthritis, depression, obesity, heart disease, diabetes or cancer.”
Modern medicine is based on drugs, surgery and the “pill for an ill” mentality. It’s quite astounding when you think about the massive human resources we put into “health care” that to put it quite bluntly—doesn’t work!
For trauma, acute conditions and inherited conditions, the approach can be amazing. But for chronic conditions i.e. most problems; drugs and surgery don’t cure anything.
How could they? The problems aren’t caused by lack of drugs and so cannot be solved by adding drugs. A true cure is only possible by removing the original cause and providing the ideal conditions for the body to heal itself.
The big killers—cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes have no medical cures. And you can add to these, hundreds of other chronic conditions—depression, obesity, osteoporosis, arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome and so on. It’s a very long list.
The rates of these diseases and hundreds of others is spiraling upwards and the fact is slowly dawning on everyone, including some enlightened medics, that drugs and surgery just don’t work. If drugs and surgery work, why are the problems getting worse and worse? Kids are now getting “adult” onset diabetes and childhood rates of cancer and autism are frightening.
The simple and empowering fact is that we are a product of nature and we are tied to nature at the level of our genetics. The more we deviate from the lifestyle we are designed for, the more and more suffering we’ll see.
