I can’t function anymore
If you’re having a crisis, feel out of whack, or even worse your world has collapsed and you can’t function anymore, you need some tools that can start to repair the damage and give yourself the best chance of a speedy recovery.
What you need is crisis management — to find “solid ground” as quickly as possible…
Of course, I don’t know where you’re at; I can only talk in general terms about health crisis management. Here are some tips I gleaned from a 13 year energy crisis with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome…
Walk
Walk if you can do it, and you can do it at least a little bit. Walking is one of the best tools we have to restore balance and it’s so easy to do. Lack of movement causes metabolic wastes to stagnate in the lymph but the lymph system must be moved to work properly…
Walking outside will also give you essential sunshine, as well as fresh air — all those lovely negative ions. Work up to 30-60 minutes, 5 times a week. If you’re even too tired to walk then do yoga stretches — in bed if necessary, which will squeeze that lymph system and get things moving.
Don’t be deficient
See your doctor and/or nutritionist and try to get tested for deficiencies. If you have long-standing nutritional deficiencies, it’s going to seriously impact your ability to be healthy and happy.
Certain micronutrients are vital to complete metabolic pathways and maintain homeostasis. Western populations are generally deficient in many nutrients — B vitamins, magnesium and essential fatty acids immediately spring to mind.
Be sure to supplement omega 3 by taking fish oil and flax seeds/oil. Even the best designed diet may take a long time to restore long standing deficiencies — you need a “therapeutic dose.” Your doctor may want to check other stuff too that might be bringing you down such as thyroid function and so on.
Radically change your diet
If you don’t know where to start, try the Habit Guide diet. It’s going to make massive improvements to your health by alkalizing, providing quality nutrients and supporting your body.
If you feel toxic, groggy and tired all the time, then consider changing the breakfast option to fruit only to give your body a chance for further cleansing.
If you’re really motivated, a completely raw diet for a while can really give your body vital energy to heal. The more of a crisis you’ve got, the more radical you’ll need to be in your dietary changes in order to heal.
Consider removing all animal foods at least until you recover. These take a lot of energy for your body to digest and you’ll need to free up as much energy as possible for healing and recovery.
Remove toxins
Remove toxins as much as possible from your world — drugs and nervous system stimulants such as coffee, tea, caffeine in soft drinks and chocolate. Stimulants are one of the BIG contributing factors to fatigue.
Sleep
So Important — get into a good routine. It’s vital. Would you let a child go without sleep? Don’t do it to yourself!
If you’re tired, then gradually replenish and recuperate by adding 30-60 minutes to your night time sleep and perhaps have 20-30 mins in the afternoon if you can. Keep power naps to 20-30 minutes only or your night-time sleep will be affected.
Love your pain
Crisis is a period of often intense emotional pain. Observe and be curious about your pain. Be with it — it’s the only way to release and move through it.
Imagine if a child was suffering as you are suffering. You’d want to love and support them through it — do that for yourself too. Give love to your pain, resisting will only make it worse.
– After the crisis management phase, as and when you feel able, you may choose to…
Explore yoga
In terms of balancing mind-body-spirit, yoga is hard to beat. It works on all levels to restore harmony, release emotional blockages, and create peace and relaxation. Meditation is the ultimate life-changing practice. In short, yoga is one of the best therapies.
Work with weights
I wouldn’t be without this aspect of health. From creating an attractive physique to affecting hormones, and maintaining bone strength, resistance training is essential, whether you choose the home or gym options.
Be a dreamer
Visualize. If you’ve not got a dream, how you gonna make a dream come true? :-)
Getting clear in your mind where you want to be is absolutely vital to change. Use the complete system in Habit Guide for massive life-changing improvements.
It works on the level where the true problems exist — our programmed conditioning. By harnessing the power of habit and life planning, you can take the reins of your destiny.
Everything affects everything else. All these tools can work together to move you forward…
Good luck!

I have not researched greatly Chronic fatigue syndrome, but I do not know one thing. I have recently read that Aluminum which is found in many household products might aggravate the situation. Make sure that you check on your tooth paste, salt, baking powder, sunscreen lotion, deodorant etc. to see if they contain aluminum which is also known as amyloidosis, neurotoxin, betaamyloid, neurofibrillary and E-541. Most hard candies that are color coated also contain aluminum in the coloring. Have a good day!
Great post. So glad you mentioned that a person suffering from Chronic Fatigue should receive help in establishing good healthy eating habits from a registered nutrition professional. Many patients notice an improvement in energy with eating a well-balanced diet.
Great blog… Di
Being a dreamer is the tip that really spoke to me as I have been following a dream my whole life and it has made my life incredible. Going for and working towards dreams is what many of us live for and they will change our lives forever.
i can vouch for this type of feelings, i feel life is passing me by, and i have accomplimish little, even down to the ordinary everyday things that i feel i have lost the zeal & zest out of life, i feel that God would be saying that i need to wake up and use the life and talents he gave me, but i feel i do not have any talents either. i just drift into each new day and accomplish nothing different from week to month to year on a continuous basis and i just get so annoyed with myself and take it out on those of my family, which is so unfair. i have no focus, goal, challenge, as each of these require time, money to join and be involved in actiivites which i cannot afford, well only very few if i push myself, i take on courses with great zeal and then after a few weeks into it, any excuse and i will lose heart in what once was something i loved. why does this happen me? sometimes i feel what is my life about? where is it all going, will i feel like this in 10yrs time, i’m in my early 40’s now and wish i had a dream, something of my own to attend to, i am envious of those who have the will power and motivation to change myself. i have all the books, on diet, food, health, positive thinking and still feel low self esteem and that people don’t find me interesting or become my friend even though i have put myself out there, done the classes, am friendly warm and kind, but i do not tend to attract the same like minded people. i would really love to have a few good, trustworthy, loyal people in my life that i could be myself warts and all, and be accepted for my own personality and not compared to others which happens all the time. and i am my own worst critic of myself. I would love to hear from you in this regards.
Hi Trisha,
There’s a very true saying… “laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone.” People want to be around happy people because we all affect each other with our “vibe” in very powerful ways. So people want to be with people that make them FEEL GOOD.
So, as always, your desire, focus and energy should rightly be behind BEING HAPPY. What does it matter how many classes you go to, how much you desire good friends if nothing about you changes? This is about YOUR FEELINGS first and foremost. YOU have to FEEL GOOD before you can cause others to feel good. And then you’ll be very popular because you’ll be a joy to be around.
You may well have all the diet and health books sitting on your shelf but how has that translated into ACTION, consistent action — good habits.
Seriously throw all these other books away because they have achieved nothing, and read Habit Guide, which is all about action — the consistent actions, habits, that will get you to a place of feeling good IF you commit to it. I will happily answer any questions you have about putting Habit Guide into practice, but first you need to read it — it’s short — only takes about an hour to read it cover to cover. And then you’ll be in no doubt what the causes of “FEEL GOOD” are. Then you will be truly empowered because whether you take action or not, you will know the truth about happiness.
Everything spins out from HAPPY.
Get happy FIRST, then good things will happen in your life. Happy first — focus there with as much energy and focus as you can muster. Step one — read the Guide.
Trisha, I’ve posted your Q and A here…
