Honestly I found it very upsetting. I remember thinking at a very young age — around 8, that this beautiful world would be better without us in it. Nature is perfectly balanced and we come along with our size 10’s and mess it all up :-)
What are the true solutions? Yes of course we need to change the way we live but beneath it all is the striving of humanity to feel good by the wrong means. And that brings in materialism, greed, competition and so on. What lies beneath all these things are bad feelings.
If everybody was happy, they would not strive for STUFF and would be naturally compassionate, have spare capacity to give and SHARE. If everybody was happy, omg, what an amazing world it would be, intellegence and compassion and sharing and serving of the world as a whole.
And so each would benefit from the whole too. Sharing works, competition and greed do not.
We need a serious mindset shift from me to us. From lust for stuff to service. It’s just about what works. An attitude of service is a wonderful thing, giving is a wonderful thing.
If we all worked together for the whole and dropped our petty agendas, we could have it all and an amazing world it would be.
Absolutely Mike. It’s incredibly sad to watch isn’ t it? Us humans leaving this enormous footprint on nature… all based on ego, greed and power.
I was glad to hear about the measures that have been taken at the end though. Of course as ever with us humans, it takes an impending crisis to get us to act. Let’s just hope it’s not too little too late.
We must all make good personal decisions and then hope the governments follow up on the positive steps they’ve already taken.
